Another update on the commercial portfolio site: a logo development for Malin Dimech’s new business “Siblings”. I love working for start-ups, the energy and passion that goes into setting up a business is infectious. It makes me happy to be part of that initial spark. Going into business on your own always takes courage. I admire everyone who takes things into their own hands and follows his/her dream. With “Siblings” that’s the same. Malin started out with just needing a logo to put onto labels for her handmade clothes, but it turns out there’s a lack of high quality, soft, organic and “fun” fabric for kids clothes available locally in New Zealand. So she started reselling fabrics that she selects from across the world. Here is the chosen logo:

The best phase in the process of a logo development is the creation of the first presentation. It’s where most of the “magic” happens. Coming up with different visual approaches is what I enjoy the most about design. It’s where I get to try out and explore (if time/budget/briefing allows, that is) – and when I learn the most. I’ll show you some of the options, I came up with during this process (and which have been rejected):
