I never knew how important communities are until I became a mother and Plunket (New Zealand’s largest provider of support services for the development, health and wellbeing of children) helped me finding my way through motherhood and child care. I am grateful for the support I got from them. When my Plunket nurse asked me if I would help out with designing their newsletter, I got the opportunity to give back.
With a dedicated team of other mums, we redesigned the old newsletter and switched it from old fashioned paper send outs to digital distribution (with the lovely mailchimp). In order to keep production costs low while giving me a creative challenge, I decided to illustrate the articles. I want to try out a different style for each issue. These are the illus for the first newsletter.
