Reading lots of kid’s books to my daughter wears off: I made those prints to decorate little Miss’ room, trying out a technique that I learned during art school. I didn’t have the right kind of ink though. It dried too quickly. Next time, I’ll use printing ink rather than acrylics. More pictures inside.
Ever since I saw Jessica Hische’s Daily Drop Cap I wanted to do something similar. But as I don’t have quite the dedication to create artwork on every single day of a whole year, I decided to just try it out with one month. So, I declared January 2012 to be robot month.
In those rare times when freelance jobs are slowed down and you suddenly find yourself with a bit of spare time on your hand, I saw smashing magazine’s poster competition and decided to contribute. Although both my submissions were under the best 35 selected entries (out of 150), they just fell short of getting a prize. But it was fun doing anyway.
